Oxford Saïd Business School: Impact careers advice for MBA and Executive MBA students

After an expert panel session on impact careers for the Oxford Saïd Business School MBA and Executive MBA students, CoSustain Consulting was invited to be a permanent industry advisor to students. We have coached over 100 students on impact careers, helping them navigate options across sectors and sustainability issues.

Oxford Saïd Business school delivers a transformational programme, that challenges students to explore innovative solutions to complex business issues. Increasingly students are interested in impact careers, and seeking guidance on how to navigate their professional journeys.

Context

The school invited CoSustain Consulting to serve as an industry advisor to coach its MBA and Executive MBA students on impact careers. They wanted someone with depth and breadth of experience across a range of sustainability issues, sectors and geographies. Since 2017, we have facilitated panel discussions, run impact career workshops, provided one-on-one coaching and mentoring on impact careers, and been a judge for the Systems Mapping competition.

Approach

We have supported over 100 students on impact careers, to navigate options across sectors and sustainability issues. Through this, students are able to widen their understanding of career paths and identify new opportunities. Some students have been made offers as a direct result of our advise and connections.
