Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade: Private sector engagement development strategy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was keen to review its peers and the market to refresh its private sector engagement strategy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was looking for experts to advise on refreshing its private sector engagement (PSE) strategy. It was keen to find a team with experience in financial and non-financial strategies and solutions, and who understood the donor and DFI landscape.

Context

Led by Enabling Outcomes, the work included a mapping exercise, a SWOT analysis, and recommendations for the role that PSE could play in achieving Ireland’s development goals. We analysed existing and emerging PSE strategies for sustainable development by OECD and EU member states and provided recommendations for current and any future PSEs to be established by Ireland for its development programming.

Approach

We received positive feedback from the client who implemented a number of our recommendations.
